Palma Cathedral dominates the Bay of Palma, its Gothic Towers are an amazing site whether you are approaching from the east, west or the sea. The Cathedral, known as "La Seo", is built on the site of an Arab mosque.

The story behind the construction of the Cathedral is that in 1229 Jaime I was returning to Mallorca with his troops in order to recapture the island. 
On the way they ran into a terrible storm, fearing for the lives of himself and his troops Jaime I vowed to build a church in honour of the Virgin Mary if they survived. He never saw the final edifice. Although he laid the foundation stone in 1229, construction continued until 1601, with further alterations continuing until 1904!

Palma To Soller Train ~ from €20 return per person

For the majority of visitors Soller is a day excursion from Palma de Mallorca. The journey by road from the capital of the island takes no more than 30 minutes these days since the construction of the tunnel through the mountains that surround Soller.
However, the best way to travel is to take the Palma to Soller railway. The train leaves from the Placa d'Espanya railway station in the centre of Palma and slowly winds its way through 28km of beautiful countryside to the town of Soller. The journey takes about 1 hour 20 minutes.
The timetables below are correct at the time of writing but just check with the Palma to Soller Train website in case there have been any alterations.

Where do I get picked up?
When you arrive in resort, call our office on 0034 971 89 70 66 (open every day 0930-1300 and 1600-2000 GMT+1) to confirm your pick-up time and point. We will pick you up at a point no more than a few minutes walk from your hotel.

How do I get my tickets?
As soon as you make a booking, you will receive an electronic ticket to present on the day of the trip. If you would prefer it to be sent by post, please advise us at time of booking.






This trip combines the Marineland park with the popular dolphin school. Entrance to Marineland is included in the price and there will be time to visit the park.

Touch & meet the dolphins, get to know them and learn about their lifestyle and habitat. Take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train the dolphins and teach them new skills.

This 45 minute session is very popular with all and a unique experience for everyone.Minimum age of dolphin school participation is 7 years.

The Soller train ride today is much like it was 100 years ago. You will ride in vintage railcars with mahogany panels & brass fittings. The ride is not fast but the sights are spectacular.
